Video: Mehdi army used 'holy mosque' as torture chamber

This is slightly - but only slightly - off topic. This is a CNN report on a group of religious Shia Muslims known as the Mehdi army who used a mosque in Baghdad as a torture chamber. It's only slightly off topic, because we know that given the chance both the Shia and the Sunni would love to do the same thing to the Jews, and because despite the lack of respect Islamists show to their own religious shrines (let alone to those of other religions), Israel continues to respect the 'holiness' of their sites and would almost never send the IDF to go after terrorists in a mosque.

Let's go to the videotape.

I was going to say something derogatory about Islam but what could I possibly add?

Gershon,

CNN removed the original. I replaced it with a copy that someone posted to LiveLeak. This is the second time in about a week that CNN has done this with a video I posted (the previous time it was the one about the Jewish community of Yemen). So much for their videos being embeddable.

I know how to deal with that.

Holiness and Islam is a contradiction in terms. A religion that slaughters every one around them is far from holy.

Why is the reporter wearing that ugly black veil?

If she HAS to wear something on her head, at least let it be something bright and pretty.
