I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Four of our children are married! Before I started blogging I was a heavy contributor on a number of email lists and ran an email list called the Matzav from 2000-2004. abu: I hope your not serious, or maybe you just need to read the Torah! :) Seriously though, I cannot believe the ego of Obama, it is ridiculous. It's coming to the point where this man is beginning to scare me. I hope he scares the American public as well because we cannot afford an Obama presidency. 1 term would be absolutely devastating to this country and would take years to recover. 2 terms would be so harsh I don't even want to imagine what would happen to our military let alone our country or Israel for that matter.
It's about time for Israel to start taking matters in their own hands and changing their foreign policy outlook. They have to stop relying on the United States as a big brother influence and develop an "us vs them" mentality.
No man is equal to God. Not even the Messiah. Obama's outsized ego is equal to that of some of the worst despots of history. He's reaching for Olympian heights. I'm reminded here of the old, true and trite adage: "Pride goeth before a fall." How fitting!
