And another 'gesture'

Less than a day after Israel released 198 'Palestinian' terrorists from Israeli jails, Israel is making yet another wrongheaded 'gesture' to 'moderate' 'Palestinian' President Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen. The Israeli government has granted 'amnesty' to forty-five more 'Palestinian' terrorists, who will now be free to plan terror attacks in quiet solitude without the hot pursuit of the IDF.

A senior Palestinian source told Ynet that 45 wanted men would receive full amnesty, allowing them complete freedom of movement in the Territories and even beyond their borders. Other will be restricted to the 'A' Territories.

Some 20 other wanted men, who have been detained by the Palestinian Authority, will be released from prison on the condition that they remain within the PA command.

Additionally, a number of wanted men who were not granted amnesty as part of the agreement signed last year, will enter a probation period of several months – after which it will be decided if they are eligible for full amnesty.

At Snapped Shot, Brian Ledbetter reports that the world media covered Monday's terrorist release as if the liberated terrorists were heroes.

The photo news wires are filled with pictures of another 200 or so Palestinian prisoners who have been freed from Israeli jails as a "goodwill" measure towards the Palestinian Authority. As others have pointed out, these guys aren't exactly innocent bystanders who were rounded up by a military state; but rather, most of them were incarcerated in the process of planning and carrying out terrorist attacks.

How does our "impartial" press choose to represent them?

You guessed it: As heroes.

Releasing terrorists is morally wrong and endangers Israeli lives. It also does nothing to strengthen the 'moderate' Abu Mazen. Instead, it strengthens the 'extremists' against whom everyone claims to be fighting.
