New Sderot playground to have 'playful' bomb shelter

A new Sderot playground will include a 'playful' bomb shelter to which children can run when Kassam rocket barrages hit. The bomb shelter will be colorful and shaped like a centipede. Let's go to the videotape and then I'll have a bit more for you.

Obviously, it's terrible that kids need a bomb shelter in the middle of a playground. But that's the least of the grim tidings coming out of Sderot.
According to the most recent Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) report, there are 3,578 students in the western Negev city of Sderot. Between 70 and 94 percent of the city’s children show signs of suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as a result of the constant rocket fire, according to SMC [Sderot Media Center. CiJ].

More than 4,000 rockets have been fired from Gaza at Israel since the Disengagement of August 2005, in which every Jewish town in the Gush Katif region was destroyed and all Jewish residents were expelled from their homes by the [Israeli. CiJ] government.
So much for those of you who thought Ariel Sharon - who destroyed the Jewish communities of Gaza - was such a 'brilliant tactician.' Sorry, but he's destroyed the lives of over 3000 Jewish kids - and that's just in Sderot. What's happened to the Jewish kids from Gaza may even be worse.

Hmmm. I guess this means they don't expect the "ceasefire" to help the people of Sderot much.

It does show us the Israeli government's contempt for Jewish children. Having them live their entire lives with Arab violence is a "normal" thing. And is too much to ask the IDF to eliminate the source of the terror lest the politicians get discredited. Actually its for their dithering and habitual foolishness straight out of Chelm that people now scorn them.

i agree with normanf.

it seems the greatest danger to the israeli public right now is...the israeli government.

there was an interesting article here, and i cannot remember the author - it stated that the greatest danger to the west right now was our self-hatred, because it allows others to take advantage.

right on.

hope you had a gut shabbos.
