IAF jets training over Iraq for Iran mission
A source in the Iraqi defense ministry told a local news network on Friday that Israeli jets have been practicing flying over Iraq for the last month and then landing at US bases in Iraq. According to the sources, security has been beefed up at the US bases in question. According to the Defense Ministry officials, retired Iraqi army officers in the Al Anbar district reported that fighter jets have been regularly entering Iraqi airspace from Jordan and landing at the airport near Haditha.Heh.
The sources estimated that should the Israeli jets take off from the American bases it would take them no more than five minutes to reach Iran's nuclear reactor in Bushehr.
For those who don't recognize it, that's the Eitam spy jet pictured at the top. Believable? It seems to be. I'm kind of surprised that they're flying over Jordan (as opposed to Turkey), but I'm not sure the Jordanians have a way to stop it.

I don't think the Jordanians mind. Every Arab state, out of reasons of Islamic solidarity, will condemn an Israel attack on Iran. But privately, they wouldn't mourn the demise of Iran's nuclear ambitions which they rightly suspect would be used against them after Israel was wiped out. Historically, the Persians and the Arabs have not been on the best terms, despite having a common religion. So in one way, that works to Israel's advantage. The Jewish State won't face more than lip service protests from her neighbors when the time has arrived to deal militarily with Iran.
Turkey would not let US ground forces enter through Turkey. Now Iran is a different animal than the Kurds who the US were friendly with, but Turkey has been a less than reliable ally of US and Israel since Erdogan.
