A 'senior IDF officer' has lost highly classified, top secret security documents that were saved on an MP-4 player according to a report tonight on Channel 2 news. No more specifics were available.Some of the documents found are marked "top secret" and are of the highest security classification level. These documents also explicitly state that it is illegal to have them copied or saved.It sounds like Channel 2 has them. Or maybe they just have the player without the documents. I wonder how old the daughter is and what ever motivated her to turn over documents like that. Welcome to the digital age.
It is believed that the digital player was passed on to the major's daughter, before getting lost and eventually being passed over to Channel 2 reporters. In response to the report, the officer maintained that he was not aware his daughter had taken the MP4 player.
Regarding the misplacement of classified material, Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi stressed in the past that the IDF treats such cases with gravity. It is therefore likely that the officer will be released from military duties.
In response to the report, an IDF spokesperson said that "it is a serious information security crime that was committed by a senior officer and will be treated both by a security investigation, as well as by the military police."

A leftist moonbat? At least they were Channel 2 reporters. One shudders to think of high level classified Israeli secrets falling into Arab hands.

Your first question is exactly what I was thinking. As to your comment on Channel 2 reporters, they may not be that much better than the Arabs when it comes to keeping secrets....
