Does the Left care about Muslim women?

This is a bit off topic for me, but I'm going to say it anyway.

In Dallas yesterday, two sisters were found murdered in their father's taxi. The father is the prime suspect in the murder and has disappeared. There is a nationwide manhunt on for him. The father is a Muslim and the girls' murders were apparently 'honor killings.'

Memeorandum, which aggregates articles from mainstream media and the larger blogs, has three separate sets of links to articles that deal with this story. Every link in every set is from an outlet that is know to be right wing/conservative (although there is currently an argument going on the Little Green Footballs 'dead thread' that one blog that's been cited is no longer worthy of the 'conservative' title). Not one link comes from an outlet or blog identified with the Left. Even the AP story comes from Fox, which is identified with the Right.

Why doesn't the Left think this story is so important? Has it become politically correct to be silent when Muslim girls are murdered by members of their families for 'defiling the family honor.'

This question is important to all of us because it has been proven that the violence that permeates Islam starts with how it treats its women. Why doesn't the Left care?

In Israel, it is the reverse. The Left cares a great deal about Arab rights but none about Jewish rights. It supports policies designed to promote the weakening and ultimately the disappearance of the sole liberal society in the Middle East. So the question can be put to them too: "Does the Left Care About Jews?" We knows what Avi Dichter thinks of Jewish prayer, for example.

No, Western feminists do not care about women when they are harmed by Muslims. Not enough, anyway. Basically, Western feminists are postmodernists. What they care about is "the other." Now, when Islam is identified as "the other," then even its most heinous practices against women themselves must be handled delicately and without--no matter what--blaming Islam for those practices. I just read on LGF (you probably saw it) an article about some crazy African feminist who argues that the horrible practice of female genital mutilation is a symbol of female power. She talked about all the expressions of "joy" at the "ceremonies." Tell that to the little girl being tortured.

Reality is of no importance to these people. Things like truth and falsehood, pain, evil, torture, right and wrong, are not categories in which they wish to deal if it would upset their made-up way of looking at the world.
