Another reason to vote for Giuliani
Here's another reason to vote for Republican front runner and former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani for President: The
Arabs are scared out of their wits by the prospect that he could become President. (
Hat Tip: Little Green Footballs).
But here's the problem. Whereas post 9-11 Giuliani was generally considered a competent, nice-guy keen to roll up his sleeves in order to put his city to rights, in recent months the mask has come off. In short, Giuliani is no benign patriotic do-gooder. He's a hawkish, sabre-rattling, pro-Israel, nationalistic neocon.
A clue to Giuliani's leanings emerged during the visit of Prince Al Walid Bin Talal to Ground Zero in October 2001. Bearing a $10 million donation for disaster relief, the Saudi prince suggested the US reexamine its Middle East policies and adopt a balanced stance towards Palestinian aspirations. Giuliani's response was to hand back the cheque.
Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards has joked President Giuliani would be like President Bush on steroids. Unfortunately, this is no joke.
Giuliani makes no bones about the fact he would use military force to set-back Iran's nuclear programme. In September, he promised to use America's military might to prevent Iran pursuing its nuclear ambitions should he be elected president.
His senior foreign policy adviser Norman Podhoretz has spelled out this message, advising that Iran be bombed with cruise missiles and bunker busters. "None of the alternatives to military action - negotiations, sanctions, provoking an internal insurrection - can possibly work," he told The Daily Telegraph.
Giuliani is talking tough when it comes to Pakistan, too. He recently urged the president to be more aggressive in the hunt for Osama Bin Laden within Pakistan even if such a move would result in alienating the Pakistani government.
On Iraq, Giuliani has been consistently gung ho. He supported the war from the outset, backed the so-called surge and believes American troops should stay in Iraq for the foreseeable future.
And if my worst fears are realised and Giuliani moves into the White House there will be no Palestinian state for the foreseeable future either. He has declared in no uncertain terms his antipathy towards a two-state solution because a Palestinian entity would "support terrorism" and threaten US security.
Sounds great already, but there's more: Rudy G. has a history of this stuff:
It's also worth recalling that in 1995, he banned the former Palestinian president Yasser Arafat from attending events held in New York to celebrate the UN's 50th anniversary and ordered his removal from a concert held at the Lincoln Centre. It's not surprising that a panel of eight Israeli experts assembled by the daily Ha'aretz determined Giuliani is the best presidential candidate for Israel. [Keep in mind that Haaretz is our most left-leaning daily newspaper. CiJ]
A recent article on the front page of the New York Times titled "Mid-east hawks help to develop Giuliani's policy" enlightens us as to the former mayor's new best friends. "Mr Giuliani is consulting with, among others, a particularly hawkish group of advisers and neoconservative thinkers," the article reads.
In the Middle East, my enemy's enemy is my friend. But my friend is also my friend. Rudy Giuliani is our friend here in Israel.Israel's friends should support him.

Wow, this article sure sold me on Rudy!
Elder of Ziyon quotes some of the comments too!
I've known this about Rudy, he is strong for Israel but I won't vote for a babykiller, I just won't do it. There are non-negotiable issues, and homosexual marriage and abortion are two of them. I will not not bend my values for a vote. There is so much more baggage that Guiliani has on top of these issues. I also won't vote for a mormon, that is just kooky. Most likely I will be staying home on election day, but at least I don't live in a swing state and democrats always win the electoral votes of Maryland. I hope Israel will get a strong leader, because they need one in these trying times.

Good for you, Kronic! You want it all! All the loaf or none! No compromise to get a somewhat conservative Republican administration that'd give you half of what you want and also prevent a Democrat administration from giving you none of what you want and all of what you don't want!
Then when your philosophy doesn't work out on Election Day...When President Hillary or some other equally loathsome Democrat takes office because you and enough others think and vote the same, thereby splitting the conservative and moderate vote, you'll nonetheless have the satisfaction of a noble self-image.
Meanwhile, not just you but all of us will also get eight more years of another Democratic admin continuing towards their goal of the systematic EUropeanization and destruction of America.
kronik,
I really hate drug prohibition. Republican Socialism for criminals.
All the R candidates excepting Ron Paul love it.
You think that that fact is going to make me sit the election out in favor of "Saudi Money Bought My Husband" Hillary or "Nation of Islam" Obama? Or any of the other crooks or liars?
In any case the best way to stop abortion is not to put a government gun to people's heads (what if the gun gets turned on you?), it is to convince women not to have them. Culture not coercion.
Of course a War On Abortion would make a nice companion piece to the War On Drugs I suppose. Evidently there is not enough work for all the people in America who want to be criminals. Some kind hearted Republicans want to create those kinds of opportunities for unemployed and underemployed criminals. I think it is a good idea. Those kinds of jobs are hard to out source.
Note: In advance I apologize for any spellings errors or grammatical errors as this is a very long post.

NO, I do not want it all. What does that mean anyway? I want to obey my G-d and honor him constantly in ALL that I do. If this is you AussieDave, I'm extremely dissapointed, I sense sarcasm in your post, if you are trying to take a shot at me, please let me know so I can nix you from my blog list. You can even e-mail me here @

No spaces ofc.
The Lord my G-d is in control. I will not disobey the Lord my G-d for a vote. There are other great candidates out there, like Huckabee who is currently rising in the polls and a with a STRONG moral compass and faith, and a lover of Israel visiting no less than 5 times during his political career.
If President Hillary comes to be, the Lord is still in control, we dealt with 8 years of Clinton we can manage Hillary, especially when we take both houses back.
Meanwhile, not just you but all of us will also get eight more years of another Democratic admin continuing towards their goal of the systematic EUropeanization and destruction of America.
The Messiah won't come back on Airforce 1... btw Dave I'm Daniel434 on IsraellCooly if that is you AussieDave.

I really hate drug prohibition.
Hrmm, now I know whom I'm dealing with. You visit the needle exchange often in SanFran, ah? Yes let's legalize all the hardcore drugs...loon.
You think that that fact is going to make me sit the election out in favor of "Saudi Money Bought My Husband" Hillary or "Nation of Islam" Obama? Or any of the other crooks or liars?
I don't understand what you are trying to say, but Guiliani being remarried a few times says something about him. If he can't keep his wedding vows that is just another knock on him IMO. How can he run this country? How can we honestly believe him if he can't keep is wedding vows at least 2 or 3 times!? Just more baggage on a true centrist, not a republican.
In any case the best way to stop abortion is not to put a government gun to people's heads (what if the gun gets turned on you?), it is to convince women not to have them. Culture not coercion.
The best way to stop abortion is to criminalize it, abortion is murder of a human being. His stance on gun control is loony as well. The guy is no Reagen conservative, the guy is no conservative period. There are great conservatives running but they don't have the money nor the prestige that Guiliani has, I would vote for Huckabee or Tancredo, anything can happen still. I won't even vote for Guiliani/Huckabee ticket.
I'm sorry people, but I won't bend my values for a vote. I have principles, and politics is not my religion. I will not slap the face of G-d for a vote in which my state will lose to Hillary anyway. There is no chance for the state of Maryland to go to any republican running, not even Guiliani.
As for Israel, they need to stop relying so much on the US and get a strong leader who will take control of things. I do not worry about Israel, even if Ron Paul was elected. There is a G-d who neither slumbers nor sleeps over watching Israel. I am not worried, Israel has divine protection.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. -Psalm 121:4
It seems the last two commentators spend more time reading into politics then they spend reading the Bible whether you be Christian or Jew. I care so much more about obeying my Lord than I do about this election, it is a non factor compared to my faith. My recommendation is that you two should spend FAR more time worrying about where you will spend eternity then who you will vote for, or who will be the next President of the USA. The both of you seem very uninformed about the other candiates like Huckabee who has a much stronger love than for Israel than Guiliani. If the both of you cared about Israel and did your research you would find that Huckabee is best for Israel but again, Israel has to elect a strong PM and stop worrying about our politics because there will come a day when every nation turns its back on Israel.
I believe that if we as nation, especially our President honors Israel we will continue to be a blessed nation, if not, we are in trouble but that does not mean I should blatantly disobey my Lord my G-d for a vote.
OK kronik,
I get it. You favor Republican Socialism. Price supports for criminals. Not an unusual position - except for a party that claims to be against socialism.
Here is a little something to get you educated about the biology of drugs.
I know a great amount of opioids and benzodiazepines. On top of that I am very much into organic chemistry because my grandfather worked for the military researching new compounds, and yes, he worked with opioids. I also have a great burden for those who are addicts. I also frequent the newsgroup alt.drugs.hard out of curiosity and to learn. There is no need to push your agenda on me. You know how someone gets addicted? That is what I am targeting, the how. Genes do not cause you to open your first beer and take a sip, genes do not cause you to go out on the streets and seek a dealer to buy some H. Lack of Morals usually do, and I also know what it is to suffer and even take opioids for various disorders.(see:Kratom) BTW, what exactly does decriminalizing all hardcore drugs have to do with any of the republican candidates? No one favors that, not even the dhimmicrats. Personally, I do not mind decriminalizing marijuana and I certainly do not want another legal opioid that I mentioned above to be illegal. I hope you understand.
PTSD and the Endocannabinoid System
Addiction Is A Genetic Disease
From a blog eh? I like official reports from medline and other places, but I still may take a look. Again, not sure what this has to do with my previous comments.
I suppose you believe in jailing people whose genes are not up to snuff. How Christian of you.
Genes not up to snuff? Haha, yea, when can you say genes make you take your first sip, your genes cause you to purposely seek out hard drugs, yea. OTOH, I do believe in addictive personalities. I also believe in the moral decay of the soul and in a higher power. Drugs destroy, peroid. It happened to one of my favorite music artists -- Layne Staley. The sad thing is, if he was jailed he probably would have lived but he never was, and he never ran out of money to buy H.

Once you set the precedent that human reproduction is the government's business what is to prevent a government under the wrong administration from making abortion mandatory?
You know something like - too many children of young mothers become criminals. I'm sure the science can be ginned up along with the hysteria.
Your obviously very liberal, and very much a socialist or maybe your wearing a "che" shirt. There is no need to go here, you won't convince me and I won't convince you. My only wish for you is that you think more about eternity because there is one above who loves you and has a great purpose for you. Good luck, I hope you find your way, I have my principles and you have yours. As long as I keep on the narrow and steady path, I am on my way and happy even in my suffering. I wish the best for you as well but we must agree to disagree. Also, if you want to contact me and talk, email me, I will no longer read this comment section.
Blessings,
Daniel
You number my wanderings;

kronik,
People chronically take drugs because they have chronic problems.
My research all refers back to the medical literature.
Criminals And Moralists Working Together
Class War
Treatment vs Recreation
I write about the interaction of drugs/genes/environment/brain chemistry.
Addiction is a genetic disease with an environmental trigger.
For all your understanding of chemistry, I'd say you were a little light on understanding what you call "addiction". People who chronically take drugs are no more "addicted" to them than people who chronically take insulin are addicted to insulin.
Let me see if I can make it simpler.
For insulin deficiency people take insulin. For cannibinoid deficiency they take marijuana. For endorphin deficiency they take heroin.
Now why we want to persecute such people or deprive them of their preferred natural medicine is beyond me.
Evidently such people are very adamant about getting the relief they desire. Which is why the market is inelastic. People take pain relievers to relieve pain. Surely a novel approach to medicine.
Restricting the supply of pain relievers to those in pain creates a black market. Republican Socialism. Price supports for criminals. BTW the idea that drug prohibition is a form of socialism came from Milton Friedman.
And in case you still don't get it: addiction is not caused by drugs any more than insulin dependency is caused by insulin.
You should read my articles which have links back to primary sources.
BTW I was recently at a hospital intake for a friend with schizophrenia. They asked my friend about his drug use. They explained to me that drug use by such people is self medication.

Actually I am not a liberal.
I'm a small government Republican. A dying breed from what I gather.
I favor the war on Islamic fascism. I think capitalism is the only way to go. I have never worn a Che' T.
Well good luck to you when Hillary makes abortion mandatory.
One need only look into the history of the ICC to see what government regulation in an area leads to. Generally the opposite of what was intended.
Kronik,
Here is what Drs. know on the subject and you don't:
A well known secret
Whoops, here I am again. :P A long rant.. so.. be prepared :D
I never unsubscribed to this thread, I have been sick the past few days, but thank you for the information and the links. I will try to go over them with an open mind, and I think out of most fundamental baptists, I am pretty open minded. I believe you are on to something about endorphin imbalance... SSRI's and SNRI's do not work, again I do not want to get personal, you gotta e-mail me if you wanna talk personal but thanks again for the links. I am actually far more liberal on illicit substance issues IMHO.
I do want to know though... do you think this country will be better off if we legalize H? Meth? Coke? I see the country going the same direction as the Chinese and their opium issues in the past. Maybe I am wrong.
About Guiliani & Abortion,
First of all, how can you trust a guy who can't even stay true to his wedding vows at least twice? That has persuaded my grandfather at the least to somewhat switch his support, but he will eventually vote for Guiliani when he wins the nomination because we all know he will.
Well he got the nod from Robertson, lol -- but that won't do a thing for me. The guy is somewhat nuts(Robertson), he supports assassinating Hugo Chavez but does not support a military strike on Iran. I watched his show a few nights ago lying in my own sweat trying not to puke, heh, not from him! I have been ill as stated above.
Listen, I am morally handcuffed here. I almost want Guiliani to LIE to me about his non-negotiable stances on abortion and gay marriage. I really do want to vote for him, I want to get excited about a strong conservative leader, but I don't see him as one. I must obey the Lord my G-d, I made up my mind about Guiliani far before my pastor said anything, and far before Dobson. This is personal, I feel very much like Joseph Farah does from WorldNetDaily in which he wrote a recent article about this whole mess with Guiliani and abortion.
Am I being stubborn? You bet. Simon, isn't there any non-negotiable issues for you? Like stricter drug laws? I'm glad the states are making their own laws regarding some substances like S4lvia D. What if Guiliani was a hardliner on this? I'm just trying to relate to you in any way I can... =/
A last thing,
As I check your links I see you run P&C, very nice. You are well informed, have you ever posted @ ADH? Your name sounds familiar. I'm going to e-mail you.
To my Jewish friends:
Are there any instances in what I call the Old Testament that promotes voting for someone who publicly advocates for doing some things wrong in the eyes of the Lord, but overall, is a better alternative for the country and you can vote for him without disobedience to the Lord? I cannot think of any, but I do know your Leaders like Saul and David had their own troubles. In fact every leader did. Anyway, not sure why I'm ranting so much -- I don't think anyone is reading this! :D
Blessings,
Daniel
P.S. - Thanks again for the links and woah.. my word verification test says "ifleeout" or 'I flee out' , hey, maybe it is a sign? xD

I missed this. Are you really? That is pretty cool, I feel like I am speaking with a celebrity! Hhh!
