Jordan won't send troops
I suppose this should not really come as a surprise. In response to Prime Minister Ehud K. Olmert's suggestion a few days ago that the Jordanian army be deployed in Judea and Samaria to 'protect' Israel, the rump king of Amman said yesterday that he's not sending any troops.
"Apart from being categorically rejected by Jordan, these proposals are meant to send a mistaken gesture or hint that the Palestinian national institutions are incapable of shouldering their responsibilities and to circumvent the Palestinian people's right to establish their independent state," [Jordanian government spokesman Nasser] Judeh said. "Besides, this is an exposed attempt to entrench the idea of separating the West Bank from the Gaza Strip."It's true that the 'Palestinian national institutions' are 'incapable of shouldering their responsibilities.' And if stationing Jordanian troops would 'entrench the idea of separating the 'West Bank' from Gaza, it's because Hamas and Fatah can't get together and not because of the troops.
But I'm just as happy not to have Jordanian troops in Judea and Samaria. They'd just get in the way (and worse) when the IDF goes after terrorists.

Once again our enemies save us from the stupidity of our leaders. Just like in 2000 when Yasser "kul-kul-kul-kul-kul" Arafat (long may he burn in hell) inadvertently saved Zionism by rejecting Barak's suicidal offer.
