Interview with Justice Minister Friedmann

Over the weekend, Haaretz had an interview with Justice Minister Daniel Friedmann. As I have noted in the past, Friedmann is attempting to change the way the Supreme Court selection process works, and to reinstate the concepts of standing and justiciability that were undone by former Supreme Court Chief Justice Barak, to the contempt of the branja.

The interview is too long to reproduce on this blog, and I should add that I don't agree with everything he says, but it bears pointing out that Friedmann gives support to those who claim that the court is biased against religious Jews, Jews of Sphardic extraction, and Israelis who hold views on the right of the political spectrum.

Read the whole thing.
