Hamas takeover in Gaza costs 'Palestinians' $1 billion

The Hamas takeover in Gaza is likely to cost the 'Palestinians' $1 billion. That's what the 'Palestinian' economy will lose if Israel doesn't go through with a deal to buy natural gas through a British Gas consortium that's been drilling off the coast of Gaza.

About a month ago, I reported that Israel was about to enter into a deal to purchase natural gas from a consortium headed by British Gas that was drilling off the Gaza Coast. Today, according to a report in Maariv (which I could not find), Israel is about to cancel the deal.
Reports in the Israeli daily, Maariv, on Thursday quoted high ranking political sources saying that "Israel will review everything, if it is not going to be sure where the money for buying gas will go. If the rational partner on the other side will remain absent, everything will be studied again."

The paper also said that Israel will not buy the gas if the Hamas movement "continues its terrorism and control of the [Gaza] Strip".
If the deal goes through, the 'Palestinians' would receive about $1 billion in royalties over its life.

No pity party from me..if hamas continues its' terrorism? That seems to be a given.

What they might do with that amount of money? Somehow I do not see it going towards tzedakah.
