About Me
- Name: Carl in Jerusalem
- Location: Jerusalem, Israel
I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Four of our children are married! Before I started blogging I was a heavy contributor on a number of email lists and ran an email list called the Matzav from 2000-2004. You can contact me at: IsraelMatzav at gmail dot com

Practicing a Bahstahn accent? Mine is almost gone. Say hello to Coolidge Corner for me.
Go, Red Sox!
Go Mets :P
J/K :)
Yes, Go,Mets! :)
Let's go, Mets!
Fenway Park! There's a real baseball stadium! Real grass; no dome-fresh air and real weather; all those great seats by the infield, with unobstructed views...
Makes me trip down Memory Lane to going to the old Connie Mack stadium in North Philly to Phillies games when I was a kid. I can almost smell the hot dogs and beer.
My best friend's dad would take us from the town in NJ where we lived. He'd get second tier seats right over the dugout for about $5 each! He'd have a dog & beer; my friend and I would have a dog & soda-couple of bucks for the beer or sodas, couple of bucks for the dog ... Sometimes it'd be a double header. A wonderful afternoon of major league baseball for less than $30!
The good old days! :-)
