Israeli consulate in New York has a blog
Following in the footsteps of Bibi Netanyahu, the Israeli consulate in New York has opened a blog.Hat Tip: NY Nana
The blog bills itself as the new and improved Israel Video Blog. Now with more posts, more videos, and more cool stuff! It is in English and Spanish and will soon be in Arabic and French.
"We understand that one blog won't make a revolution, but the State of Israel having a blog makes a statement," said David Saranga, consul of media and public affairs. "Our message needs to reach the young generation, and to do this we had to think outside the box."The Jerusalem Post reports that the blog will steer away from war-related topics and introduce young Americans to Israel's fashion houses, nightlife, cultural institutions, science and technology.
"We have problems with two main communities in America - with liberals and the young generation," said Saranga. "The reason we have a problem with liberals is because of the political situation, and the young generation doesn't see Israel as relevant."Someone ought to tell these guys that there are lots of bloggers in their 40's and 50's.

Thanks for the hat tip, Carl.

Sadly, there is a lot of truth to the above statement.
The technological advances that Israel has made are incredible, and too many people are unaware, as the MSM does not like to present Israel as it really is.
The PR also has not been that good, and perhaps this will help.
Bloggers in their 40's and 50's? Who knew? Any in their 60's or 70's, ya think?
Actually, this was (re)launched before Bibi's blog.
Dave,
It was just written about in the Jerusalem Post on the 23d and 24th of Dec....better late than never!

Why doesn't that surprise me? The J Post are frequently behind the blogosphere.
Does this mean that THE Aussie Dave (whose blogroll I would love to join - hint, hint!) actually reads my blog? If so, I'm honored....
Carl,
I don't have too much time to read many blogs regularly, but I do drop in here from time to time. You are very prolific!
I'll add you to the blogroll - feel free to do the same...
