The Yassamniks beat the Haredim

As many of you already know, Israel's attorney general ordered Jerusalem's police department to find a way to allow the 'gay pride' parade to take place on Friday, despite the fact that it means at least 12,000 police will have to be committed to Jerusalem (leaving the rest of the country dangerously exposed), and despite the almost-universal opposition to the 'parade' being held here.

The police worked out a new route for Friday's homosexhibitionist parade with the Jerusalem Open House, the organization that is organizing the event. The march has been moved from downtown Jerusalem to the area around the government complex - a non-residential area, but one where thousands of cars pass each day. Police hoped the new route would lower opposition tempers, but the opposition organizations say they will not tolerate the gay exhibitionist event anywhere in the holy city.

Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, the Rabbi of the Kotel (Western Wall), warned police on Monday that he fears Islamic worshipers will display their opposition to the parade by throwing rocks at Jewish worshipers at the Wall during Friday’s weekly Muslim prayer services on the Temple Mount.

Jerusalem remains the focal point of protest against the gay event: some 40 protestors were arrested Monday night, and one man was injured moderately when a rolling garbage bin hit his car. Protests have also occurred alongside Route 4 near the southern entrance to Hadera, in Ashkelon, and elsewhere. In Beit Shemesh, some 300 religious men marched peacefully against the homosexual march, while in Bnei Brak, youths destroyed garbage bins and blocked roads.

Last night (Monday) marked the sixth straight night of unruly protests, and they are expected to intensify as the date of the march nears.

Calls to take to the streets in protest have come from the Eida Hareidit Rabbinical Court, Rabbi Yosef Sholom Elyashiv, the Yesha Rabbinical Forum, and the National-Religious Camp. Close to 3,500 buses have been chartered to bring protestors from around the country to Jerusalem on Friday by the Yesha Council, Shas, Chabad and other organizations. The Eida Hareidit Rabbinical Court has vowed to organize a "million-man march" against the parade.

According to a survey, 90% of Jerusalem residents are against the parade.

The Haredi based Hatzalah voluntary emergency medical organization has refused to provide services to the parade participants.

But it's the Haredi community that has felt the brunt of police enforcement actions to allow the parade to go on. (Hat Tip: Israpundit)

Tonight, thousands of protestors expressed their opinion of the Immoral Pride Parade scheduled for this Friday. Thousands of Yassamnik Police, those who expelled the Jews of Gush Katif and then violently beat and expelled the Jews of Amona met the protestors to inform them of the government's opinion. That is, it's legal, permitted and desired for same gender immoral paraders to express their opinion, but it is illegal, unwanted, not permitted, and will be violently beaten for the religious to express theirs.

Shlomo, a roving reporter who was at Gaza and at Amona was there tonight. He met some old 'friends' face to face on their horses in Kikar Shabbat (between the Meah Shearim and Geulah ultra-orthodox neighborhoods). Same huge riot horses donated by Germany, same 'guys' on top of horses that he saw in Gaza, Chevron, and Amona. They're back, and this time the charedim, the ultra-orthodox, are their target. These black or grey uniformed 'security' forces come with no name tags, no badges or id, just clubs and shields and experience at dealing out pain. The protestors used means at hand. Garbage bins were lit on fire, groups shouted and threw stones (not stones as reported by the international press, when Palestinians throw bricks and cinder blocks, but real hand held stones, mildly painful for unprepared police, only mildly annoying for armored shielded black clad forces.)

It's only Monday night, 4 days to go until the Immoral Pride Parade, yet the protestors are also ramping up. A young man, 19 or 20, who had an old truck quickly stopped it in the middle of the intersection, jumped out and LITE IT ON FIRE...

Other news sources report at least 20-60 protestors arrest, and at least one boy was beaten almost to death. Please pray for recovery for Eliyahu Moshe ben Shoshana, in critical condition.
