Kassam attack on Sderot

According to an Israel Radio report, ten people have been wounded - two of them critically - in a barrage of six Kassam rockets that landed on Sderot and other towns in the western Negev a short while ago (The army no longer gives precise landing spots because the 'Palestinians' have been improving their aim. We do know that two of the rockets landed in Sderot). The rockets were shot from Beit Hanoun, which was the area in which the IDF was operating last week.

This has prompted the usual round of hand wringing from Israeli politicians about how we need to make 'peace' with the 'Palestinians' and how 'military action' is required to deal with those who are ordering that the Kassams be fired "even if they are abroad." The fact that the 'Palestinians' with whom the politicians want to make 'peace' are the same 'Palestinians' who are ordering the Kassams seems to have escaped our clueless politicians.

For those who still hold out hope for the current government, before the Kassams fell, I had planned to do a post called "The Bobsey Twins" describing consecutive Israel Radio interviews with leftist (former Likud) Kadima Achora minister Meir Sheetrit and delusional 'professor' and former foreign minister Shlomo Ben Ami.

The rot continues to eat away at the country's fabric. And Olmert, Peretz and Livni continue to fiddle - Olmert and Livni in Los Angeles, and Peretz here in Israel.

Update 9:00 AM

Israel Radio just reported that one of the wounded has died and that the 'military wings' of Hamas and Islamic Jihad have accepted responsibility for the Kassams fired this morning.

Update 11:15 AM

The person who was killed in this morning's Kassam attack is a 57-year old woman. The person who was seriously wounded was a 24-year old bodyguard for Defense Minister Amir Comrade Peretz. Sounds like they were shooting at Peretz's house again.
