Palestinian Civil War Watch - Hamas forces on 'high alert'

Hamas has its 'executive forces' on high alert today, in anticipation of a 'coup attempt' by 'moderate Palestinian President' Mahmoud Abbas Abu Mazen, which is expected to take place tomorrow. The coup reports are unconfirmed, but Hamas supporters have informed the Jerusalem Post that their forces will be deployed throughout the Gaza Strip to prevent the 'coup.'

Abu Mazen has assured Hamas that he is not planning a coup.

But the unpaid 'Palestinian policemen' are planning to escalate their protests on Saturday. Maybe they want a bigger share of that $50 million in cash that Hamas smuggled in earlier this week. Yesterday, a group of PA 'policemen' in Ramallah and Gaza City said they were planning to torch the offices of the PA Finance Ministry if they did not receive their full salaries within the next 48 hours.

Meanwhile, another meeting between Fatah and Hamas in their 'mediators' is planned for Cairo this weekend in the hope of avoiding a civil war.
