Gates of Vienna has the following motto on its home page: At the siege of Vienna in 1683 Islam seemed poised to overrun Christian Europe. We are in a new phase of a very old war.
In this post, the Baron explains that the connection between that other war and the current one is even closer than you thought. In fact, September 11, 1683 had great significance in that war.
