Hizbullah launches Iranian-made Fajr-5 missiles at Afula

The 'new type' of rocket was a Fajr-5.

Police said in an official statement that the missile, which landed near Afula, contained 100 kilograms (220 pounds) of explosives - an amount that could have caused extensive damage and casualties had it struck a building. Fortunately, it landed (or they landed - it's not clear to me whether only one missile was a Fajr-5 or all five of them were) in an empty field.

Shortly after the missile(s) was shot, the IAF destroyed the launcher.

Dear Karl,
I have read your blogg for a long while mainly to get a feel of what is going on in Israel, you cannot trust the BBC or any MSM for an unbiased report and I am disgusted at the naivety of our western politicians especially Jack the Frog. They don't seem to understand that the west is at war with Islam and that Israel is the front line and if Israel goes Europe will be next to have its collective throat cut . I feel very sorry that you have been literally forced into a war not of your own choosing and time. Hizballah has to be exterminated if you are to live in peace anything less will be construed by all Arabs as a victory and mean that you come under more pressure, and as time goes by threatened by even more deadly weapons. I fear for your family and your country. What worries me most and seem to have been forgotten by most people or perhaps not even thought about is that the warheads of these rockets could be filled with radioactive caesium which is easily procurable. A hit by one of these on Haifa would make it uninhabitable for a generation. I hope you have got plenty of Iodine tablets for you and your family. I learnt as a child about the travails of the Jews from our next door neighbour who was in the first medical unit of the British Army to enter Belsen Bergen on the day it was liberated and spent the next few months burying the dead and trying to save the living until the barracks were finally burnt down. It doesn't take a very lively your imagination to imagine your families and countries fate if Iran and it surrogates win this war. You have a least one supporter in the moral quagmire called Europe.

Yours sincerely

Yorkshire Miner.
