Arab countries ignoring Nestle boycott

Here's some good news for a change.

AFP is reporting that most Arab countries are ignoring the Damascus-based Arab League Central Boycott Office decision to add Swiss food giant Nestle to the boycott list. AFP says that Nestle as "maintains a branch in Israel," but the truth is that Nestle's interest in Israel is much greater. Nestle owns 50% of Osem, which is one of the largest food manufacturers in Israel.

Nestle, one of many multinational companies that operate both in Syria and Israel, also maintains presence in a number of Arab Gulf states, as well as Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. The AFP article implies that only Syria intends to abide by the Central Boycott Office decision.
