Livni's 'Palestinian state'

Foreign Minister Tzippy Livni today told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee that she believes that Israel is being 'delegitimized' as the national home of the Jews.

Livni has told all of Israel's foreign representatives to stress the concept of Israel as the national Jewish home, and she has been doing so in all of her meetings abroad. So far, so good.

Then, HaAretz quotes Livni thusly:
At the same time, Israel's diplomatic representatives overseas are also directed to stress the importance of a Palestinian state as part of the framework in which the Palestinian refugee problem would be solved.

Huh? Say what? First of all, there is no reason in the world that Israel's diplomatic representatives should be stressing the importance of any state, and certainly not a 'Palestinian' state reichlet. Second: "part of the framework" in which the 'Palestinian refugee problem would be solved. Part? What are the other parts? A 'right of return' to Israel so that the State of Israel can subsidize its demographic destruction as a Jewish state in a matter of 10-20 years?

But if anything, it gets worse:
The foreign minister also noted the government's main policy is to advance the concept of two states between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea with Israel acting as the national home of the Jewish people and the Palestinian state serving as a national solution for the Palestinian people.
The government's main policy is a 'Palestinian state'? Where is the government that we Israelis elected to serve us? Can you imagine a US Secretary of State saying that the American government's main policy is to advance the concept of two states between the Rio Grande and the Pacific Ocean, with the United States acting as the national home of the Jewish people, and the Aztlan state acting as the national solution for South American refugees?

It was better when HaAretz was off line Sunday.

A Palestinian state would be a huge disaster for Israel. I do not understand why more Israelis do not see this...though then again, until recently, I was for a two state solution.

*sighs*
