Kassam Close Call 2
Two weeks ago, I ran a story called Kassam Close Call. This morning, there was another one.A 17-year old Sderot boy was lucky he got up on time for school today, because sometime around 7:00 AM a Kassam shot by the 'Palestinians' landed in his bed. Three other Kassams were shot at Sderot this morning, sending one woman to the hospital with light shrapnel wounds and several other people to the hospital in shock. Two rockets landed in the center of the city near the Shikmim school.
Comrade Peretz came out and shook his fists at the 'Palestinians' and said "na, na, na" in response. "If the Kassams don't stop, Israel's response will be tough and painful. We will seek out people who fire Kassams in every corner." Kind of reminds me of Ehud Barak's "we will know what to do."
The Jerusalem Post reports that a total of six Kassams were fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip this morning. Two landed in open territory in Sderot. One landed in an IDF base in the south, and another landed in a kibbutz. No one was wounded and no damage was reported in the two latter incidents. Sounds like bombing empty fields isn't exactly deterring anyone or encouraging the Gazans to expel the terrorists in their midst.
HaAretz tries to connect this morning's Kassam fire to last night's car swarm. As if the 'Palestinians' need an excuse to fire Kassams. HaAretz, Israel's Hebrew Palestinian Daily, is always looking for ways to make everything Israel's fault.
YNet points out the uselessness of shelling empty fields. It notes that five Kassams were launched at Sderot at 7:00 AM (HaAretz said four and the JPost said four at Sderot plus two others), and that by 7:30, Israel was shelling the empty fields of Gaza in response. But the rocket fire continued: At around 9 a.m., a rocket landed on the Gabim Junction near Sderot, while a mortar shell landed near an IDF base in the Kibbutz Nahal Oz area. Of course, YNet may not have meant to point that out, since lately they have been trying to out-left HaAretz.

Another rocket penetrated a home located on Moshe Sharet Street in the city and landed on the bed of one of the children, who left for school just minutes before the incident occurred; damage was caused to the house and to a number of cars parked nearby.
According to Moyal, the promises made byUltimately, Moyal is right of course: the only way to stop the Kassams is to 'reoccupy' Gaza and wipe out Beit Hanoun - and probably Beit Lahiya too. It's just a pity that the government expelled all the Jews from there ten months ago in a dangerous 'experiment' that was doomed to failure from the start.Defense MinisterComrade Peretz and other government officials after a Qassam rocket hit a Sderot house last week have not been kept.
"However, I am happy that after four years someone has began internalizing the solution I proposed, and I am referring to Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter, who also suggested we reoccupy Gaza and wipe out Beit Hanoun," he said.
