I have no idea what precipitated the story below, but it is beyond disgusting and the Defense Ministry employee who did it ought to be dismissed.
Moshe Ben Zaken, an employee working in the office of Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon, publicized (last week) an unusual post, in which he slammed the conduct of heroic IDF soldier Roi Klein, who saved the lives of his soldiers during the Second Lebanon War, when he lay over a grenade during battle and was killed.
According to Ben Zaken, Klein jumped on the grenade, not out of bravery, but rather in order to cover up an operational error.
The post has since been removed. There's no place for that kind of accusation.

Israel Times says Mr. Ben Zaken is an "advisor" to Yaalon. So, exactly what kind of combat experience does Mr. Ben Zaken have? Where, when and for how long?
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's what I thought.
Too bad it wasn't at the Nariman House in Mumbai, November 2008.
This sickened me to read that someone at the level executive level of the hierarchy, such as Mr. Ben Zaken would say such a bold faced lie! It is beyond inappropriate for him to hold such a high level position, as he currently does. Very disturbing conduct.
ReplyDeleteAt some point I remember listening to two of his men, who he saved, relating what he had very purposefully done, to save all of their lives. They spoke about him with great reverence and love - which cannot be faked. This picture shows what a gorgeous family (inside and out) that they were.
