Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has become one of his biggest opponents, believes that an American attack on Syria should
topple Bashar al-Assad (Hat Tip:
Memeorandum).
Erdogan said
that the limited strikes which the United States is reportedly planning
against Syria would not be enough and pushed for a broader military
offensive.
"A limited operation cannot be satisfactory for us," he was quoted as saying by the NTV news channel.
"An
intervention akin to that decided for Kosovo must be launched. An
operation of one or two days will not be enough. The goal should be to
force the regime out," declared Erdogan.
Isn't it great that Erdogan, Barack Hussein Obama's best friend forever, is willing to fight Syria to the last American? Maybe he should be asked how many troops he's willing to contribute to the cause. On the other hand, maybe not. He might use a troop deployment to Syria to try to restart the Ottoman empire.
