Let this moron leave office soon

Eventually resigning Prime Minister Ehud K. Olmert told his cabinet on Sunday that Israel's 'occupation' of Gaza causes anti-Semitism.
Israel withdrew from Gaza and expelled all the Strip's Jews in 2005. Outgoing Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said Sunday that Israel's “occupation” of Gaza was causing worldwide anti-Semitism. In his weekly cabinet meeting, Olmert said the restrictions on Gaza caused hatred, adding, “It should be remembered that we see the occupation as problematic.”

The Prime Minister, whose government supports the removal of Jews from most of Judea and Samaria, added, "As long as this reality continues, it makes it possible to attack Israel and gives anti-Jewish sources the opportunity to be heard. The complicated situation we're in encourages anti-Semitism.”

Olmert was reacting to reports of an increase in anti-Semitism worldwide since Israel's Operation Cast Lead in Gaza.

...

“As long as we continue to be presented as occupiers, we'll continue to suffer from anti-Semitism. We'd do well not to forget the overall picture and the complex meaning of being an occupier,” Olmert said.

In what some perceived as an attempt to cement steps for creating a new Arab country, Olmert issued a warning to Israel's next government, saying the government must understand “what we will face, if we give the sense that domination over another people is integral to our worldview and that we don't plan to make any dramatic changes.”
You'd have to be a moron to believe that the world's oldest hatred is going to fold up shop and go away if Israel creates a 'Palestinian' state reichlet on half of its territory. Just like it was foolish to believe that the world would suddenly acknowledge that we no longer 'occupy' Gaza when we expelled ten thousand Jews from their homes three and a half years ago.

But then we already knew that Olmert is a moron and a fool.

Israelis are just glad to see Ehud Olmert finally go and no one cares what he thinks. Since Israel is no longer occupying Gaza, would Olmert care to explain why the world hates Israel more than ever? It certainly wasn't because his government tried to overthrow Hamas' rule there. It didn't. Nothing Israel does or doesn't do will change Jew-hatred in the world at large.

I just had an Australian commentator at my personal blog say this same outrageous thing lately--that the treatment of the "Palestinians" is causing increased anti-semitism. When I called him on it, he went into the "criticism of Israel is not anti-Semitism" spiel, whereupon I pointed out that _he_ was the one who originally used the word "anti-Semitism" and that I was merely taking him literally and calling him on the particularly creepy claim that anti-Semitism is caused by Jews. (Well, I didn't put it quite that well, I'm afraid.)

Norman, Olmert is a symptom of a disease. Gone he will be but we stupid Jews are not lacking for replacements.

Carl, I have come to the point where I pray for the 9th Egyptian plague, darkness, in the hope of us being meritted to be part of the "Chamushim."

I just don't know what else to think.
