Turkey's Erdogan shows 'Moderate Islam' an oxymoron

Israel Radio reports that on Monday, 'Secular' Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan met with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. If Ahmadinejad had made the headline-making statement of that meeting, it would not have been a big deal. But Erdogan, a 'moderate' Muslim and the leader of a country that sees itself as an ally of both Israel and the United States, came up with a statement worthy of Ahmadinejad and 'Islamic extremists.'
Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday warned that Israel was committing "inhuman" deeds in Gaza that will cause it to self-destruct.

In an interview with Al Jazeera television network, the Turkish prime minister said Israel hurt its relations with Turkey by attacking Gaza, and will be punished [by Allah. CiJ]

...

In the wake of his visit to the Middle East on Monday, Erdogan voiced his support of Hamas and said Turkey would act as a mediator between the Islamist organization and the United Nations Security Council [Does Erdogan think the party that has to consent to the end of this action is the 'Security Council?' CiJ].

He further stressed that Israel was responsible for violating the six-month cease-fire with Hamas by keeping the coastal strip blockaded. [Thousands of rockets have nothing to do with it in Erdogan's world. I wonder what he would do if Greece started shooting rockets at the Turkish enclave in Cyprus. CiJ]
But when the Turks massacred the Kurds, that was okay.

This is the way the Turks have forced the world to ignore their massacre of over a million Armenians early in the 19th century.

Your translation of the Turkish PM's comments are not true and neither is your own editorial on who will be punished. It is this type of arrogance coming from your types that is inciting the Middle East.

Here's the difference between Palestinians and Kurds:

1. No one occupied Kurdish territory. They have been living in the same area, in co-existence with Turks for 1000 years. Israel occupied Palestine and kicked the Palestinians out.

2. Kurds are free to move anywhere in Turkey just like any other citizen, have sizable business interests around the country and have even been presidents. Palestinians live in prison areas called Gaza and the West Bank, have no feedom of movement and their land is constantly confiscated by Israelis.

3. The Kurdish terrorists are attempting to create a new state within an existing state. Israeli state terror stole the land of the Palestinians and is not refusing to give them statehood.
