IDF soldier dies of wounds

An IDF soldier died this afternoon from wounds sustained when a mortar shell exploded next to his unit.
The Spokesperson's Office of the Israel Defense Forces announced late Sunday afternoon that a soldier has died at Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva of wounds suffered during a clash with Hamas terrorists this morning in the Jebalya area, just north of Gaza City, when a mortar shell landed close to his unit. His name will not be released, in conjunction with the wishes of the family.

Another soldier was mortally wounded in the operation.
May he be the last one to die.

The death of St-Sgt Dvir Emanuelof, may his memory be for a blessing, tells us that good people die in war and the soldier makes the supreme sacrifice for his country. There are times when good people have to die so others may live so let's take the occasion to never forget them. It is due to that sacrifice that Israelis are alive today and it is the entire reason for the IDF's existence.
