Video: Lebanese TV news presenter slams Hezbullah

The only woman who comes to mind while watching this video of Lebanese TV presenter Sahar Al-Khatib is Wafa Sultan. I have never seen any other woman in the Arab world with the poise and the you-know-what to put the terrorists in their place. In this clip, which was shown (apparently live) on Lebanon's LBC TV on May 9 (this past Friday) Al-Khatib blasts Lebanon's opposition leaders (Hezbullah and Amal) following the shutting down of the pro-government Future TV by the supposedly neutral Lebanese army and Hezbullah.

Let's go to the videotape.

If this woman is willing to talk to Israelis (unlike the crying fool who is Lebanon's Prime Minister), I'll bet we could find her work with a much more open media here in Israel. I'd go to bat for her.

UPDATE 6:50 PM

I just saw a video (sorry, Arabic only so I'm not posting) which indicates that Future TV is back on the air.

Its very rare for a woman to hold a prominent position in Arab public life. When one considers Arab cultural and Islamic religious restrictions, half of the Arab World's population starts out disadvantaged. There is no Arab Queen, President or Prime Minister who holds the major decision making post in any Arab country.

That was actually very moving.

Sometimes I console myself that as much of a madhouse Israel currently is, there's still quite a semblance of civil order here.

In Lebanon, the lunatics are running the asylum. And then when they rabidly foam against us, I always think they deserve one another.

But it's a pity. Lebanon should have been a tranquil, pastoral country. Islam killed it. Sunni, Shia - makes no difference. And the Christians, who inhabited the land long before Islamic conquorers came and raped it centuries ago and through today, don't have much time left there.

I get the feeling that she is a Muslim supremacist - and she still harbours warped views about Israel.
