Hezbullah seeks to avenge Mugniyah by assassinating Ehud Barak?

In this telephone interview by Infolive.tv's CEO Olivier Rafowicz with veteran Lebanese journalist Salam Eid, Eid claims that Hezbullah will seek revenge for Imad Mugniyah one on one. According to Eid, for Hezbullah, Mugniyah was considered to be on the same footing as Israel's Defense Minister Ehud Barak. Speaking from Beirut, Eid said Hizbullah will strike back, it may take a month, it could take a year, but they will avenge Mugniyah's death.

I find it curious that Eid assumes that Israel was behind Mugniyah's liquidation - which has not been proven. But in that he is probably no different than anyone else in the Arab world.

I would not be surprised if Hezbollah targeted a high ranking Israeli leader, perhaps outside Israel. Given Iran's pledge Hezbollah would destroy the cancer called Israel, the terror group has had a reputation of putting its threats into action in the past.

At the moment the Israeli elite - the branja and governmental leadership still acts oblivious of the reality of the Middle East, in particular the depth of Jew hatred in the region no peace process seems able to cure.
