Two videos: What it's like to live in Sderot

Noam Bedein moved to Sderot several months ago and opened the Sderot Media Center. SderotMedia.com is an independent website that brings you the HUMAN story behind the headlines. According to the Center's web site,
A WAR is going on in the southern part of Israel, the Western Negev and in the city Sderot. The fear, the story, and the human suffering that occurs as a result of this war is documented by our exclusive news stories, features, photos and films.
You will see two videos below. The first is Noam Bedein's presentation to the Herzliya Conference in December, at which he showed snippets of daily life in Sderot and the constant fear in which those who remain in Sderot - most of whom cannot afford to leave and have no other place to go - live. (Hat Tip: NY Nana) Some of the comments on the first video are astounding....

The second video is a news report on the wounding of 19-year old Rami and 8-year old Osher Twito in a Kassam attack in Sderot on Saturday night February 9. The report was broadcast the following day. 8-year old Osher lost a leg in that attack; doctors have apparently managed to save the other leg. The brothers have been transferred to Tel HaShomer hospital in the Tel Aviv area, far from Sderot, where they will be undergoing rehabilitation for the next several months.

Ehud Olmert's concession on fortified housing, after hypocritically fighting it for years, is tantamount to as admission that Israel's being attacked daily is a "normal" occurence.

It says something that Israel has a government skilled at clinging to power but completely clueless about defending the country.

Thanks for the hat tip, Carl.

I wish that the videos never had to be made in the first place.

I can only wonder what it is like when the residents hear "Tzeva Adom".

It is chilling.
