Edelstein asks Zuckerberg to remove Facebook Intifada page

Israel's Minister of Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs, Yuli Edelstein, has asked Facebook President Mark Zuckerberg to remove a page calling for a third 'Palestinian intifada' to start on May 15. As of this writing, the page has been 'liked' by 325,477 people.
Yuli Edelstein, minister of diplomacy and Diaspora affairs, in a letter sent Wednesday called Zuckerberg's attention to the Facebook page "Third Palestinian Intifada," which calls for a third Palestinian uprising to begin May 15. The page, which has more than 230,000 friends, includes quotes and film clips calling for killing Jews and Israelis, and for "liberating" Jerusalem and Palestine using violence.

"As Facebook's CEO and founder, you are obviously aware of the site's great potential to rally the masses around good causes, and we are all thankful for that," Edelstein wrote. "However, such potential comes hand in hand with the ability to cause great harm, such as in the case of the wild incitement displayed on the above-mentioned page."
I wonder if such an 'intifada' would convince the 'international community' not to unilaterally create a 'Palestinian state.'

Nah, that's probably expecting too much.

Ehud Barak wants to take the 'initiative' in making 'peace'

Defense Minister Ehud Barak worries that Israel's current government is not properly suited for 'peace making.' Barak wants to take the 'initiative.'
Barak said that the government structure is not suitable for progress in the negotiations: "Until now I could not change the situation from within. I see this as the reason to stay in government."

Barak said that Israel must consider how to move negotiations with the Palestinians forward.

"I have not significantly changed my position on how the final arrangement will look, there is not much difference between the proposal at Camp David and today," the defense minister said.

According to Barak, Israel has a lot to lose from continuing to be passive.
After all, things worked out so well the last time Barak took the initiative.
