Remember the Maccabeats who did that song over Chanuka that now has an astounding 4,000,000 views? Here they are in a video from last summer performing Oseh Shalom (He Who Makes Peace) from the daily prayers (it's probably one of the most said lines in all the prayers since it's said after every main prayer and in every Kaddish).
Meet the guys behind the hit video that I've posted a couple of times this week. It's gotten more than two million hits and now they've made it to the CBS Early Show in the snow. It's the Maccabeats.
I know, it's too early for an overnight music video, but....
On Wednesday night/Thursday morning, I played the new hit song Candlelight by the Maccabeats. Now, we're going to go behind the scenes with the Maccabeats.
You're going to love this. It's called Candlelight, it's in English and it's by the YU Maccabeats. And when you're done, you'll know the story of Chanuka.
I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Four of our children are married! Before I started blogging I was a heavy contributor on a number of email lists and ran an email list called the Matzav from 2000-2004.
