Mubarak's health declining, family refusing treatment
Deposed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's family is refusing to let him be flown to Germany for treatment out of a desire to
let him die in Egypt as he wishes to do. Mubarak is apparently still in Sharm el-Sheikh.
Deposed Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak's "health is deteriorating drastically," an Egyptian security official told London-based Arabic language newspaper a-Sharq al-Awsat on Tuesday.
The source added that those around Mubarak were refusing attempts to bring him abroad - most likely to Germany - to receive medical care and that attempts to do so have been rebuffed by those around him who wish to honor his desire to "let him die in his country." "I think it's only a matter of time," he said. It is "unfortunate that [it] ends up this way."
Another Egyptian official told the paper that the octogenarian former dictator is in "what seems to be an almost complete coma." In light of his condition, the official denied rumors Mubarak was working to write his memoirs.
The latest report came a day after Egyptian Ambassador to Washington Sameh Shoukry said Mubarak may be in poor condition.
That kind of makes you wonder why he fought the demonstrators so much in the first place. Unless he still had hope of turning the country over to his son Gamal....

Egyptian troops in Sinai for the first time in 30 years
Israel gave Egypt permission to send troops to Sinai for the first time in 30 years. Under the Camp David treaty between Israel and Egypt, the Egyptians are forbidden from stationing troops in Sinai. The troops were allowed to deploy in Sinai for
riot control.
For the first time since the signing of the peace treaty between Israel and Egypt, Israel responded favorable to an Egyptian request to bring the army into the Sinai peninsula in order to control the unrest that has gripped Egypt for a week.
Israeli sources told the Associated Press that two battalions were deployed in the Sharm El-Sheikh area at the southern tip of the peninsula, on Sunday.
According to Israel Radio, Knesset speaker Ruby Rivlin (Likud) has asked the Knesset's legal counsel to check whether the government has a right to allow the Egyptians to send troops into Sinai, or whether it's a violation of the treaty, even with Israeli approval.

Zionist shark found
In an earlier post, I reported on attacks against tourists by
Zionist sharks off the coast of Sharm el-Sheikh, which is currently part of Egypt. I know that some of you may have doubts that the sharks really are Zionists. I am about to resolve those doubts for you. A picture of one of the sharks has been found. It is below. This shark is definitely a Zionist.

Zionist sharks wreak havoc in Sharm
A German tourist was mauled to death by a shark in the Red Sea off the coast of the former Israeli resort of Sharm el-Sheikh on Sunday and guess who the Egyptians believe is to blame. Of course.
The shark must have been a Zionist.
A German tourist was mauled to death by a shark off Egypt's Red Sea coast Sunday, but if popular rumors on the street are to be believed, it was the Israelis who did it.
The attack came days after authorities claimed they had hunted and killed a shark believed to have injured three foreign tourists in previous incidents.
The Egyptian government says that the attacks occurred because a trawler dumped dead sheep into the Red Sea which caused a feeding "frenzy". Marine biologists say overfishing may have forced the sharks to look in new waters for food.
While Egyptian media are treating the incidents as rare, perhaps in a bid to encourage the millions of foreign tourists who visit Sinai's coast every year that the area is safe, there have been several reports in the past decade of shark attacks.
That hasn't dampened the imagination of conspiracy theorists, however. A popular account has it that Israel is "dumping" hungry sharks in the Red Sea in a bid to weaken Egypt's thriving tourism industry.

One tourism company operator who owns a small fleet of mini-buses that cater to Cairo's tourist spots told me that Israel wants Egypt to lose one of its most vital economic resources so that it can toe the line on the Palestinians.
A waiter at a popular cafe went further and theorized that the deadly fires in Northern Israel were God's way of punishing the Israelis for orchestrating the shark attacks.
"Look at how God has brought Israel to its knees as it asks the world - even Egypt - for help in putting out the fires," he said.
Blaming Israel for nearly every malady is not restricted to loony street conspiracies. Political analysts blame Israel for emboldening Nile Basin countries in Africa to dispute Egypt's share of the river, fueling diplomatic tensions between Cairo and regional capitals.
Ah yes, the benefits of 'peace.'
