It's been a while since I posted a music video (in fact, I haven't been posting much of anything lately, but it's too close to the Sabbath to start telling you why), but last night my 17-year old son came home from yeshiva and said 'Abba, this video is great - you have to post it on the blog,' and showed me this video, not knowing that Benny Friedman has been one of my Twitter followers for a while.
Anyway, it's really a great video, and when I looked last night, it had garnered over 155,000 hits in about ten days. That's quite an impressive number, and if I can increase that I'm happy. Really worth watching.
Music video of Benny Friedman's Shalom Aleichem, performed by the
Yeshiva Darechi Torah Boys Choir. (5th Grade) Directed by Rabbi Yisroel
Kleinman, The video was produced by Skyline Music & Kol Rom Media.
The song was originally produced by Avi Newmark, arranged by Ian
Freitor, and composed by Ari Goldwag.
More light and then even more - that's the theme of Chanukah. Never stop growing, never stop brightening, don't let the light go out. The flame of Judaism is in your heart and in your hands. Use it to light one candle. And tomorrow, light another one.
Enjoy this new video and single, a Chanukah gift from Benny Friedman. Let's go to the videotape (Hat Tip: Zvi S).
Shabbat Shalom and a Freilichen (Happy) Chanuka to everyone!
Okay, it's wedding season again for the next two and a half weeks or so. I've been to four in the last two nights. Here are Shloime Dachs, Benny Friedman and AY Karsh singing Meheira (Speedily) as in we should speedily hear the voices of grooms and brides. Hmmm.
I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Four of our children are married! Before I started blogging I was a heavy contributor on a number of email lists and ran an email list called the Matzav from 2000-2004.
