Lieberman: 'Bar Ilan was a really important speech'

Former Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman told Israel Radio on Sunday that Prime Minister Netanyahu's 2009 Bar Ilan speech, in which Netanyahu accepted the establishment of a 'Palestinian' reichlet between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, was a 'really important speech' and would be the policy of the next government.
Continuing his months-long attack against Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, however, the former foreign minister said Israel is content waiting for a suitable partner on the Palestinian side. "We're willing to wait," he told Israel Radio.
"We need to explain to the world that if there is a peace refusenik, it is [Abbas]," Liberman added, saying a number of times that the current government, in which he served as foreign minister, knew very well how to stand up to international diplomatic pressure.
His comments were along the same vein as Prime Minister Netanyahu's comments to Israel Radio earlier Sunday, in which he accused Abbas of stalling negotiations.
Lieberman also denied reports that the Likud and Yisrael Beiteinu will split after the elections. The unity between the two parties has thus far been a disaster at the polls.

'Palestinians' called Netanyahu acceptance of 'Palestinian state' 'earth shattering'

On June 14, 2009, Prime Minister Netanyahu gave a speech at Bar Ilan University, in which he accepted the idea of a 'Palestinian state.' Two days later in Ramallah, 'Palestinian' chief negotiator bottle washer Saeb Erekat met with members of the European-funded Negotiation Support Unit and heads of committees, including Mohamed Shatyyeh, Hibba Husseini, Samih al-Abed and Issa Kassissieh. During the meeting, Bader Rock - legal advisor to the Negotiation Support Unit - said this (Hat Tip: CAMERA).

But you won't find that highlighted anywhere on al-Guardian's site.
