Anti-Semitism is alive and well in the United States of America
I first heard of Ben Shapiro when he was a teenager writing pieces on Townhall.com and Jewish World Review during the second intifada - long before he became a 'syndicated columnist' or editor in chief of anything. I used to carry his pieces on my "The Matzav" mailing list (2000-04). So when I saw Ben post on Sunday morning (Israel time) that his wife had given birth to a baby on the Sabbath, I tweeted a Mazal Tov. Unfortunately, other people had other things to say....— Spectre ✘ (@SpectreReturns) May 8, 2016There's much more here, including one from someone I hadn't realized was an anti-Semite. Shame on them all.

Part of this is indeed anti-Semitism, but IMHO, a huge part is fueled by "social media" technology. The children among us (whatever their age) can inflate their egos by behaving scandalously.
We have built a closet where the worst part of us can breed and grow with impunity. We worship hi-tech without looking beyond it, to implications. This one has the potential for eating our Civilization alive, from the gut. It's not just a tool for doing things. It's a means for achieving unbounded gratification.
De Tocqueville was right. America will destroy its own self (though not for the reasons he thought.)
Thanks for posting this. This is an eye opener.
