4-year old terror victim to be buried on Sunday
Shavua tov, a good week to everyone.Four-year old Daniel Tragerman HY"D (May God Avenge his blood) will be buried on Sunday at the Hevel Shalom cemetery in the Eshkol Region. Daniel was killed on Friday when a car parked outside his home in Kibutz Nachal Oz was hit by a rocket shot by Hamas terrorists. Daniel did not have enough time to escape the shrapnel.
"Daniel was a smart, kind, sensitive child," Daniel's mother Gila stated Friday. "We wanted to see him growing up with his brothers and fulfilling his potential."
Gila also described her own version of Friday's mortar shell strike.
"After a mortar shell exploded near kibbutz buildings earlier [Friday], we were preparing to travel to my parents in Kiryat Ono," she recounted. "The bags were prepared in advance. I just went outside for a moment and then we heard the 'code red' siren."
The community is in shock.
"This is a sad day, the saddest one in the area in 14 years," Haim Yalin, head of the Eshkol Regional Council, stated Saturday. "This is the nightmare of every resident and every family."
"A 4-year-old boy was killed, what else can you say?" he added. "You have to embrace your family and be united on such a sad and difficult day."The IDF has identified the location from which the terrorists fired the mortar that killed 4-year old Daniel.
Early Saturday, the IDF clarified the circumstances of Daniel's death, saying Hamas terrorists from its "military wing," the Al-Qassam Brigades, had fired the deadly mortar shell from a site "adjacent to the Jafar Ali Ibn Taleb school in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City."
An army statement early Saturday said the facility served as a "shelter maintained by Hamas authority", correcting an earlier statement in which it had stated it was an UNRWA-operated facility.Of course, since Daniel was a Jew, no one outside of Israel is likely to care. But look at the picture above. It's the picture of a terror victim. If that doesn't make you want to cry, then you have lost all feeling for what is good in this world.

I know you are hurting, and I understand your anger, for Daniel, and over the unfair treatment of Jews and Israel the world over. But "Of course, since Daniel was a Jew, no one outside of Israel is likely to care." is simply untrue, and is unfair to the millions of us all over the world who love Israel and her People. We are American Christians, and German Jews, and everything in between. We have Red Alert on our phones, so we can pray for Her when the bombs fall. And we cry and pray for her children when they return to their Creator far too soon. We do our best to spread the truth to those around us, even if sometimes we are outnumbered. Do not feel alone, even against all the hate. And do not dismiss the value of our lobbying or of our prayers.
Carl, we care. You have many more friends than you can imagine. I am reminded of Elijah's conversation with G-d that he alone was the only one left who cared and G-d reminded him that he had reserved 7,000 who had not bowed their knee to Baal. There are many American Christians that pray continually for Israel and her people. We are commanded to 'pray for the peace of Jerusalem' and we take Genesis 12:3 to heart. I believe you call it Bereshit.
I had read of the horrible murder of Daniel through 'Breaking Israel News' that I receive in my inbox almost daily and I passed the information along to other Christians on a blog so they can pray for the family. I know how discouraging it must be when you hear praises of Hamas and nothing but negative about Israel. I feel the same. It is not difficult to understand when you realize who rules in their heart and he is the 'father of lies' who was in the garden deceiving the first humans. We are living in the 'last days' and Satan is active knowing his remaining days are few.
We are not happy with the present President of the U.S. and will be ecstatic when his days are over, but the scriptures warn us there will come a time when all nations will come against Israel -- but God is your protector and even in the worst of times Israel will triumph. I know you don't believe that Yeshua is the Messiah (although he is in my life and heart) but if you will read the poorly named 'new testament' it will give you many insights into what is happening in the present day and will happen in the end. Read it in secret, if more convenient, but I believe you will find it helps you to understand those of us who love you and those who don't (Protestant, Lutheran, Catholic, some Methodist who teach replacement theology - that the church replaced Israel - a lie from the pit of hell)
Just know that there are many of us who love you and pray for you daily yet I've never had the wonderful honor to visit Israel (as much as I have wished to and dreamed about it)but Israel and the people live in my heart.
I'm so sorry you have having to go through these trials and will continue to pray for Israel and all her people.
Sincerely, Elaine
