Unbelievable: Baby Adele to be kicked out of hospital before Passover
Baby Adele (Biton), the three-year old who barely survived a terror attack more than a year ago, is to be kicked out of the Levenstein long-term care facility at the end of this week. This morning [Tuesday], the Biton family received a letter from the Lowenstein rehabilitation hospital’s management that they demand that the family will take their daughter from the hospital until tomorrow and if not, legal proceedings will be taken against them.
“Today, at 7:30am, the executive manager came to me and presented the letter noting that we need to leave,” Adva, the mother, told Israel’s Channel 2 News. “I felt like a criminal. It happened before Passover evening, without any sensitivity. We’re here and we are not going anywhere. This is evil.”
In the letter that the hospital sent, it was written that “Adele continues to be hospitalized, even though the hospital stated that the medical treatment finished and it was decided that she can leave. Upon the completion of the medical treatment, the patient must leave the hospital in order to avoid interference with the effective management of the institution.” The lawyers’ letter added, “If until 09/04/14 at 12:00pm you do not remove your daughter from the hospital, my client will take legal action.”
“It’s bizarre that Israel’s Prime Minister lied eight years sedated. I financed this and when my girl was injured because of terrorism, this is now how they relate to her,” Adva stated. “I’m simply in shock. This is a slap on the face. Minister German stated that I should not leave from here until I find a solution.”
“We request 4-5 months to organize this, because it is not easy to bring a girl like this home,” the mother added. “We are negotiating with bureaucratic institutions like Social Security. We need a system to take care of her and to make the house accessible. She needs lots of treatment and it takes a lot of energy. What am I asking for?”
After Passover, Adele will celebrate her fourth birthday with her family.I have not seen any report that indicates whether Adele was actually sent home (there was one that claimed that to be the case, but it was based on the report above and did not seem to have any follow-up). Still, it's disgraceful that the family is being threatened like that, especially a week before Pesach. The report I saw indicates that Adele's mother is also 18 weeks pregnant.

Carl, I am literally in shock! That an Israeli hospital would do this just boggles the mind. That precious Adele still needs hospital care, and if they send her home too early? She would have to return, I fear...and with her Mum now pregnant? I hope that the hospital will change their minds ASAP!
