Three Muslims arrested for anti-Semitic attack in Sydney, one victim in critical condition

Three Muslims have been arrested in an anti-Semitic attack on a group of five Jews headed home from dinner in a suburb of Sydney, Australia on Friday night.

Let's go to the videotape.

Here are more details.
St Vincent's Hospital spokesman David Faktor, a member of the Bondi Jewish community, told the Sydney Morning Herald that the victims told him the attack was unprovoked and racially motivated.
He said the victims were members of a family, and that they did not know their attackers or do anything to incite the violence. He said the male victims were wearing skullcaps and told him the attack felt like it went for about 15 minutes.
''Any kind of serious unprovoked attack is of great concern but the fact it was racially motivated is all the more concerning,'' Faktor said.
''It is extremely shocking that an attack like this could happen in Australia, let alone in Bondi being such a multicultural area.''
Faktor said the families of the victims are "very upset" and cannot understand why people would want to hurt them.
...
Beach Road Hotel licensee Ben Pearce told the Morning Herald that four bouncers and two managers from the hotel jumped into the brawl in an effort to break it up and were able to restrain a couple of the attackers before the police arrived.
''The guys did the best they could to grab as many of [the attackers] as possible,'' Pearce said. ''The fact that it had that extra component [was racially motivated] makes it even more ugly. 'If it ever happened again we'd do the same to try and help.''
Sounds like these people were lucky to escape alive.

Why would they want to hurt you? Because they're Muslims and you're Jews. Who needs any other reason?

UPDATE 9:18 AM EASTERN TIME

For the record, I got that the attackers were Muslims from the header on the video, which reads "Three Muslims arrested over anti-Semitic attack."

Jihad Watch points out:
True to form, the mainstream media doesn't mention the identity of the perpetrators, but that in itself is a clue as to who they were: if the attackers had been neo-Nazis, the Herald would have had no trouble saying that. Only when it comes to Muslims do "brawls" and "bombings" and "violence" just happen by themselves, with no clear perp. Also, the mention of the facts that the attack was "racially motivated" and in a "multicultural area" makes clear the identity of these "youths" (a common mainstream media term for violent young Muslims in any case).
But why the coverup? Why must we read tea leaves when it comes to Muslim violence? The mainstream media is doing a grave disservice to the public by reporting stories in this way, rendering them ignorant and complacent in the face of a real threat.
Indeed.

You are spreading lies and hate. You wouldn't like it the other way around.
Meanwhile it seems that the only person who didn't help and closed his shop whilst it was going on was an Israeli.
As yet there is not word as to the race, religion, creed of colour of these people.

These lies seem to be emanating from Israel. We know nothing here in Sydney.

I blogged it in Saturday morning and added a another today. This is not necessarily for posting. There appears to be no other means to contact you.

First of all, the problem is that the Sydney Morning Herald is the très leftiste major newspaper of Australia. Think NY Times or LA Times and that describes it. They enthusiastically back all the major tenets of Western "progressive" Leftist theology, including default anti-Israel bias.

If you want a more conservative, balanced major Aussie newspaper, try The Australian. For example, here's The Australian's article "Don't boycott UN rights meet, Israel told". Instead of the usual stance of most of the West's leftard MSM that "Israel is guilty until proven innocent, in which case, the topic is avoided", this article is pretty fair and balanced, explicitly acknowledging and describing the UN's so-called "Human Rights Council" and it's unique bias against Israel.

Shirl is correct. Nothing seems to be known, in Sydney, about the id of the attackers. Although the police say they are searching for other members of the gang, they do not circulate descriptions. So it is all very odd.

One of those arrested (but has been granted bail) will go to court in early Dec, and his id should be publicly known then. I am surprised he got bail, and that the court hearing is not set for this week.

As for them being Muslims - it is possible but I don't know. The Jewish community in Sydney is not making any such statements.

There has been no mention of the attackers religion, however there is this.....

Feldmen's brother, Eli Feldman, 33, is Habbad's rabbi in Bondi Beach, the scene of Friday night's attack.

"There is no feeling that anti-Semitic incidents are on the rise in the country," Eli said. "We have the privilege of living in a country that is very supportive of Jews and Israel.

"The attackers from Friday exhibited anti-social tendencies, but unlike terror attacks, it was disorganized. It would be very wrong to say the incident represents the entire country, and hence the Jewish community – as much as the entire country – is shocked. The story is front page news with everyone saying that such an event is unacceptable."

According to Feldman, Bondi Beach is a very multicultural area. According to him some 15,000 Jews reside in the area. "Bondi has seen very few incidents of physical anti-Semitic attacks. Thank God, we live in a country where most of the residents are good people who respect all faiths. We live here in peace with one another."
