Iran proposes 'drastic' reduction in nuke capability: From 6 per year to 5

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Iran will propose a 'drastic' reduction in its nuclear program when the P 5+1 talks resume next week . According to the report, Iran will offer to stop enriching uranium to levels of 20% purity, and will offer to open the country's nuclear facilities to more intrusive international inspections. According to the report, Iran is also considering offering to close the underground uranium-enrichment facility near Qom, according to the report. In return, Iran wants an easing of sanctions.

Israel's Strategic Affairs Minister, Yuval Steinitz, says 'not good enough.' He calls the proposal a joke.
Intelligence Minister Yuval Steinitz called the reported proposals a "joke."
"Closing the Qom facility means Iran will be able to produce five instead of six nuclear bomb in the first year, and giving up enrichment at 20% is less meaningful now that Iran has 20,000 centrifuges," Steinitz said.
"Israel will agree to a real and serious diplomatic solution... [in which] Iran could continue producing electricity at the reactor, but will have to purchase the nuclear fuel to operate the reactor from other countries," he continued.
