I really don't get your objection to a national health care system.

In the U.K, you get a Doctor when you need it, medicines are affordable for vast majority, and you can pay for private health care if you want it.

What's wrong with not forcing people to choose between medicine and food??

smijj come back when you have actual articles and studies about the problems with the UK health care system instead of trying to quote from the glossy government brochure.

Obamacare may prevent people from being able to see their doctors, it will increase costs to businesses and individuals for health care. It isn't a matter if wanting to force people to choose between food and health, such arguments only serve to demonize the opposition.

The US govt dept (HEW, back then, Health Education and Welfare) did a decade long health insurance study with 4 sites and swaths of "plans." What they concluded (misdescribed by Hillary2016, back in HillaryCare days) was that the less out of pocket for the enrollee, the more health expenditures they make, with no data improvement in health status. Except among the very poorest, who already have access to medicaid, if they'll sign up. The general result was RATIONING, for which the Gen2 Obamacare calls for Death Panels (IPAB), who will divvy up available care among the Democrats supporters. Sorry, this Obamacare thing is just a Communist Dictatorship Takeover of the U.S. Thanks, everybody who keeps helping them do it.

A quarter of my church and a third of my family work in the NHS. They know the positives and negatives and are all proud to work there. From my experience, it is nothing but good. If I had a chronic illness I'd be knackered in America. You can still have private health care if you want it here and I'm not seeing any real reason for not having it except that some insurance companys make less profit.

That's funny. My friends in the UK come here when they need real health care. One friends mother was denied the heart surgery she needed to live, being told she was too old. My grandfather had the surgery here, ten years her senior, and did fine. My previous doctor who is totally into obamacare agreed that yes, there will be rationing of health. Hence, she is my previous doctor.
Why don't you ask Carl how much he pays in taxes for all his free health care.
Oh, and in the UK, you have to bring your own formula and nappies when you deliver. Sounds wonderful. Here we have private hospitals wooing women to use them ... Limo rides home, steak dinners. Yeah, it's going to be so much fun having DMV style health care. Or worse, USPS style health care. G-d help us!

That's the first time I've been called lefty. I'm from Liverpool, and I do like the NHS. And my baby girl has gotten on just fine with their care the last 11 months.

If you want private care thats fine, but I think supporting people who can't afford private care is a good thing highly demonize in America.
