Angry protesters outside restaurant that hired IDF soldier's killer

There were angry protesters outside a shuttered Bat Yam grill Saturday night, after an IDF soldier was lured to the 'Palestinian territories' by a 'Palestinian' coworker and murdered over the weekend.
“Police knew that he employed shabahim [Palestinians illegally in Israel], why didn't they check, why didn't they do something? All of our children were in danger here”, said Elinor, a mother of four boys who said she used to eat at the restaurant on a regular basis.
“It's irresponsible for him to hire shabahim at a place right here in the middle of the city. He abandoned all of us just to save a few extra shekels,” said Ravit, a mother of four standing outside the restaurant on Saturday night.
“We're all hurting with the family, but with the pain is anger. He [the murderer] could have also just set a bomb and blown up the building, killed all of us inside,” Ravit said, adding that she will never eat at the restaurant again.
Like others, she said that she thought that the Arab men working in the restaurant were from Jaffa, or somewhere else nearby within the Green Line.
As she spoke, small groups of young men at times chanted “Death to the Arabs” and “Bat Yam is Jewish”, but the chants never seemed to take over the wider crowd. At one point, a group of young men began banging on the metal shutters of the restaurant, but no rocks were thrown and police made no arrests. Meanwhile, a young woman held up a sign addressing the owner, reading “Tzahi Tzameret: The blood is on your hands!” as a few boys chanted Tzahi we don't want you anymore”.
Maybe we shouldn't hire Arabs at all. Here in Jerusalem, there are many businesses - particularly taxi companies - who guarantee that they only employ Jews. I certainly feel safer that way. Remember...

If there are no Arabs, there are no terror attacks.

Israel Radio reported tonight that the murderer acted on his own, and that he hoped to murder the soldier and then exchange the body for the release of his brother - a Fatah member imprisoned in Israel.
During the investigation, it emerged that a Palestinian resident of the village of Beit Amin, in the Qalqilya region, named as 42-year-old Nedal Amar, worked with the soldier at a Bat Yam restaurant.

The two took a taxi on Friday to the Samaria settlement of Sha'arei Tikva, near Amar's village, the Shin Bet said.

Acting on the information, security forces raided Amar's home in Beit amin and arrested him and his brother.

During questioning, Amar confessed to persuading the soldier to join him for a ride to his residence, the Shin Bet added. The manner in which the suspect persuaded the victim to accompany him remains unknown.

After leading the soldier to an open area near the Palestinian village of Saniria, Amar killed the soldier by using a blunt weapon, and hid the body in a well, a senior army source said.

"During his interrogation, Amar said his motive for the murder was to 'trade' the soldier's body for the release of his brother, Nur Al-Din Amar, a Tanzim member in prison since 2003," the Shin Bet stated.

Amar then led security forces to the hiding spot where he placed the body. Security forces said additional arrests are expected, and that the investigation is still ongoing.

Amar had been working in Israel illegally. He applied to enter Israel under the family reunification law, but was rejected.
Less than two weeks ago, the government of Israel granted an additional 5,000 work permits for 'Palestinians' to work within Israel. One has to wonder why.
