An IDF patrol in the Golan Heights
came under attack on the Syrian border on Tuesday night. There were no casualties and no word yet on who the attackers were.
IDF soldiers identified a group of suspects who had entered an unmanned military post along the Syrian-Israeli border.
The
suspects did not cross the border fence, but were in Israeli territory
when they attacked the IDF, an army spokeswoman said. The results of
the return fire are not known at this stage.
The army has launched a search of the area.
I don't know what's going on across the border in Syria, but we do know that the al-Qaeda backed rebels would like to gain control of the Heights as soon as they are done finishing off Assad. Maybe they got an early start on trying?
