Bad British baseball commentary: Salamander?

Mrs. Carl sent me this very cute piece from NPR about what would happen if a cricket broadcaster had to announce a baseball game.
Suppose you have never seen a baseball game. All you know is cricket, and somebody sticks you at a Yankee/Red Sox game and says, "Do the play by play. Now. You're on!" There's no time to prepare. You don't know the rules, the names or the positions. All you know are the rhythms of your beloved cricketeers, but these "NY" players, whatever they're doing, it's not quite cricket. So you try to describe what's going on. What might that sound like?
Let's go to the videotape.

Salamander? His real name is Saltalamacchia (known to Boston fans as Salty...).

That was good, LMAO!

On a serious note, this is a good metaphor for the coverage by Brit "journalists", already mentally hobbled by their group-think liberalism, then compounded by 'all that they "know" that isn't so', about America, Israel and the ME.

Very funny, though I wish they'd have used more interesting cricket fielding position like silly mid on or backward short leg.

Far too enthusiastic for a true cricket commentator of course lol.

And captain h, do we have to Brit bash?

Smijj, on reflection, I would change "coverage by Brit "journalists" to "coverage by a majority of Brit "journalists".

In the interest of trying to save Western Civilization, liberals need to be bashed with the truth, very hard and very often.
