Obama's message to America's allies
Seth Mandel has a nice summary of the abandonment of Israel that took place over Labor Day weekend. At the end, he talks a bit about what it all means for other American allies.Additionally, the American decision to scale down military assistance considered vital to Israel’s defenses in the event of a post-attack flare-up in the region sends a message to Iran as well. And that message is not one of a united Western front, nor is it that the Iranian regime’s time to drop its quest for the bomb is running out. The Obama administration has made clear it does not necessarily stand by agreements made between previous American administrations and Israel. But going back on its own word tells America’s allies that they cannot factor in Obama’s support when planning ahead.Read the whole thing.
