'We might have to destroy Lebanon'

Former Mossad head Danny Yatom warns that we may have to destroy Lebanon - and Gaza for good measure - in order to stop rocket fire on Israel.
While acknowledging that Iran has a few hundred missiles that can reach Israel, and that the price would be horrible if those missiles were equipped with either nuclear or chemical warheads, Yatom said the central concern are the tens of thousands of rockets in Hezbollah and Hamas storehouses in Lebanon and Gaza.

Those rockets, he said, can "cover all of Israel, and that is the main problem."

Yatom said that the lesson Israel learned from the 2006 Second Lebanon War, when Hezbollah fired hundreds of rockets on the north, was that "we will have to stop the firing of missiles, both from the north and the south, as quickly as possible."

To do this, he said, Israel would have to "act with great force against infrastructure in Lebanon and Gaza, and it is possible that the price that Lebanon and Gaza will pay will be horrible. We are liable to destroy, or likely to destroy, parts of Lebanon, and parts of Gaza, so that our citizens will not suffer and be killed."
At least under Netanyahu there's hope that we will do that. If God forbid Olmert were still in charge, we'd all be cowering in underground shelters.

Every time anyone talks about what is going on in Israel and surrounding neighbor areas, the Warcrime Rockets being fired onto Israeli civilian areas should be first thing mentioned. Even listening to the leading Israelis and Israel supporters, it seems that the rockets are just part of the scenery, part of the baseline of existence. Having been pinned down by rocketfire on a trip to Israel in summer '06, I am endlessly astonished by the quietude with which Israel accepts the incoming.

Say it first, repeatedly, and volubly... Israel disengaged from Leb (2000) and Gaza (2005) and got ROCKETS. I would like to meet that Danny Yatom, or he should start an youtube or audio podcast. Because he sounds as frustrated as I am at the current state of affairs regarding Israel calling a spade a spade in regard to WARCRIME attacks on Israeli civilians.

Also, notice to the Romney/Ryan people... you will not, NOT want Condi Rice involved unless you want Israel to sit still while their civilians are ROCKETED, as she had us (I was there) do in '06. Because she sees the poor mistreated ROCKET warcrime crews as a civil rights movement, like Martin Luther King. MLK would be croaking about this concept. He said anti-Israel (like Condi) is anti-semitic!! Does she still believe that and have the Netanyahu team had the nerve to spell it out to Romney?
