Now that he's a minister, Dichter gets it: Says Iran an existential threat

Maybe he wasn't saying anything all along because it didn't toe the Kadima party line, but now that he's in the government, Avi Dichter can apparently tell the difference between Iran on the one hand, and Syria, Lebanon and Hamas on the other.
Incoming Home Front Defense Minister Avi Dichter on Sunday described Iran as an existential threat to the State of Israel, speaking an official handover ceremony at which he took the reins from outgoing minister Matan Vilna'i.

Israel's enemies, he said, are building up their capabilities to attack and harm the Jewish state, but separated them into two categories: strategic and existential threats. Strategic threats to Israel emanate from Lebanon, the Gaza Strip and Syria, he said.

Iran, he said, threatens the very existence of Israel, which the country has not experienced since its establishment.
Anyone still wondering why Netanyahu wanted Dichter to be a deciding vote in the cabinet?

What on earth is Yadlin up to? In an op-ed in Washington Post, he calls on Comrade Hussein to visit Israel! Is he totally nuts? The last thing Bibi needs is this meddlesome anti-Semite and Israel-hater sniffing around for his own political Brownie points before an election.
