Abu Mazen: 'Give us guns and we'll talk'
'Moderate' 'Palestinian' PresidentPresident Mahmoud Abbas said that "if IsraelI wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the 'Palestinians' to be provided with guns.
agreed to release prisoners, and allowed us to import weapons to the police,
we can sit down with Mr. Netanyahu."
The President said in a joint press conference with his French counterpart
Friday that he briefed the French President on contacts with the Israeli
government, and where things have come, noting that "it is known to everyone
that our first choice is negotiations, so we focus on the negotiations
between us and the Israelis...The issue of prisoners is very sensitive,
before more than a month there were hundreds or even thousands of prisoners
on hunger strike and their lives are all at risk and now we have some of the
prisoners on hunger strike like Mahmoud Sarsak a football player who is
hunger strike for 86 days, as well as Akram Alrichawi on hunger strike for
58 days."
Unless, of course, the Supreme Court tells Netanyahu otherwise....
