Olmert's delusions

Former Prime Minister Ehud K. Olmert told CNN's Christiane Amanpour on Friday that 'millions of dollars' from the 'extreme right' in the United States thwarted his efforts at peace, which, he claims, were supported by 'most of Israel.'

Let's go to the videotape.

This is a load of you-know-what. Olmert was thrown out because he was corrupt. Even his incompetence (see 'Second Lebanon War' ) didn't get him thrown out of office. Even his extremely unpopular attempts at 'peace' didn't get him thrown out. Only his own corruption. The only 'millions of dollars' that were spent from the United States went straight to Olmert's pocket. Who tried to stop him from making peace? Morris Talansky?

What a load of crap. And what an unquestioning, fawning interviewer.

More here and here.

The Jerusalem Post deserves condemnation and contempt for attempting to rehabilitate this charlatan by inviting him to their 'conference.' How do I know that Olmert's lying? His lips are moving.

Oh and by the way - guess who put Olmert in office as Mayor of Jerusalem. Yes, the ultra-Orthodox put him in to get Teddy Kollek out in the early 90's. I can't wait to see him in jail, and hope he spends the rest of his life there.

The guy's corruption was even the PA's excuse for not continuing "peace negotiations" with him. They didn't talk about right-wing millions, only about why talk to a loser who might end up in jail and was headed for being kicked out in disgrace.
