Taqiyya, Egyptian style? Muslim Brotherhood candidate for Egypt's Presidency says he's committed to keep treaty with Israel
Based on a report in an unnamed Egyptian newspaper, Israel Radio is reporting that Khairat el-Shater, the Muslim Brotherhood's 'surprise' candidate for the Presidency of Egypt, has told a Republican Congressional delegation that he is 'committed' to the Camp David treaty between Egypt and Israel. The report quotes Congressman David Dreier (R-Cal).Curiously, this report of Dreier's meeting with el-Shater does not mention the treaty.
Did el-Shater actually say that? Maybe. Did he mean it? Doubtful. Hasn't anyone ever heard of taqiyya?
