Breaking: 3 dead several injured in shooting outside French Jewish school
In Toulouse, in southwestern France, on Monday morning, three people are dead, including two children, outside the Otzar HaTorah secondary school, after a man on a scooter opened fire on children outside the school. One witness indicated that a gunman opened fire outside a private Jewish secondary school in the southern French city before fleeing on the back of a black scooter.
Five people were injured in the attack, which occurred as students were arriving for morning classes at the Ozar Hatorah school, a city official told Reuters.
Interior minister Claude Gueant broke off a visit in northeastern France to head for Toulouse, the police source said. French media reported that security was being tightened at all Jewish schools in the country.
It was not immediately clear whether police were linking the attack to a series of "ride-by" shootings of soldiers in the area last week, in which three paratroopers were killed in two incidents by a gunman who made a getaway on a motorbike.
France24 adds: FRANCE 24 correspondent Chris Bockman said the city was in “lockdown” as police searched for the gunman.Here's a report from Sky News - unfortunately no pictures.
“But this is a medieval city with narrow winding roads, where it is easy for a scooter to outrun a police car,” he added.

“All the soldiers who were killed were from ethnic minorities,” said Bockman. “So this is looking like a series of racist killings.”
“It’s a scary situation. Nothing like this has happened in Toulouse in recent memory,” he said.
The French government has since called for heightened security at Jewish schools in France, while Interior Minister Claude Gueant announced he would visit Toulouse later in the day.
A spokesman for the Israeli embassy said Monday that the country was “horrified” by Monday’s attack.

Israel Radio is reporting that three of the four people killed were a teacher and his two sons, and the fourth was the 9-year old daughter of the school's principal.
Israel Radio says the teacher was 30-years old and that one of the children was 12. I assume that means the other child was younger.

A terrible tragedy, i'm asking myself after what i read so far, the killer seems to work in a paramilitary way, attacking both paratroopers and Jewish people.Could it be Iranian or Hezbollah?And why now with the elections coming up?
Jewish school and soldiers targeted. Soldiers were of "ethnic origin"... what does that mean? 4 dead at the school and 4 soldiers killed last week? France and Germany never put a stop to these things. No "judgmentalism" from the Euros (think Munchen - let them do it and then act like nothing happened, even though the people involved were trying to expand their operation afterward). It's all good to the Euros, as long as the mainstream majority is not targeted.
This Jewish school targeting is the horror of the diaspora, the world over. Is the Jewish Agency noticing and speaking to the outposts?
The killer may very well be leftist or neo-Nazi trash. Too soon to tell.
The victims are 3-yr old and 6-yr old sons of the Israeli teacher who also was murdered, and the 8-yr old daughter of the school director.
Will, it could be anyone at this point. Not that it would make a difference. I do hope, whoever he is, that he gets dead this very day, rather then be caught and kept safe and healthy in prison.

"Ethnic origin": in France it is forbidden to use racial words in regards to French citizens. However the paratrooper victims' ethnicities relate to former colonies.
Police has been sent also to guard muslim buildings in the city, in the event it is a nazi pig motivated by "the purity of race" and "the africans contaminating the elite brigades of fatherland". It may be islamoterrorist, leftist terrorist, neonazi, at this point no one knows, there is not even absolute certainty that it is the same murderer, nor that there is only one person involved.
Let me spell it out clearly: the paratroopers recently murdered were French citizens of northafrican ethnicity (maghrebins).

Tomorrow I will hold an emergency hearing in the Aliyah and Diaspora Committee regarding the attack in France. The State of Israel must protect the Jewish people worldwide. Such actions will not be tolerated - we will not allow pogroms from the early 20th century to occur again in Europe.
